Martin Luther leads the Protestant Reformation by posting his 95 theses in 1517. His reformers opossed the traditions, rituals, and rules enforced by the Catholic Church. Because of the Protestant Reformation, the church presented a 'counter-reformation', which included the Council of Trent, in an attempt to reunite the church.
